Grief and Loss

Time does not heal our wounds... it is what happens over time that begins the healing process after we lose a loved one, whether it be a parent, a friend, a sibling, a job, a spouse, or a pet.  It is the embracing of grief and allowing it to surface, being with it, and working through it that helps us heal.

Bereavement

It is my intention to be of comfort, bear witness to and create a sacred, safe place on your journey to wholeness.  You don't have to do it alone.

I met Susie when she reached out to me to become a hospice volunteer.  She has been such a valuable volunteer in our bereavement department.  Susie makes calls to those who have lost a loved one to offer comfort and support to guide folks as they walk along their grief journey.  Susie is so easy to talk to!  I would recommend Susie to those who are looking to rebuild their lives after losing someone important to them.

My Calling

Holding space so you can heal

Years ago, after my mom died, I realized I would dedicate my life to being of service to others that were facing death or, grieving the loss of a loved one.  It has been 20 years in the making for me to be able to formalize this work.   I’m so grateful for all the friends, family and bereaved clients that have allowed me to be present and walk with them on their individual grief paths.  I too, grieve the loss of my parents, 2 brothers, 3 best friends, 6 aunts and uncles, 6 cousins, 4 beloved pets, divorce, jobs, and 6 major moves.

I became a Hospice volunteer and learned everything I could about pain and sorrow - how it manifests in our lives.  I learned about the process of grief.  I also learned there are no time limits to this thing we call grief and that, if not addressed or, allowed “to be”, acknowledged and moved through, one layer at a time, it can totally overcome us.

Please contact me directly for a brief complimentary conversation to see how I can assist you during your season of need.  My fees have been altered to accommodate the current financial impact due to Covid-19.

Holding Hands

If I had a family member passing on, I would absolutely contact Susie for support and guidance. You could not find a more fitting heart and angelic person to speak with about your loved ones needs.

Supporting You on Your Journey

Grief and Loss Work

We need a place to be sad, cry, and mourn the losses we are experiencing, whether it be a death related to Covid -19 or, a loved one that has a terminal diagnosis, the loss of job, a pet, a move or for the way things used to be.

I will create a safe place for you to explore all the feelings you are going through.  I will “sit” with you, comfort you, and help you process your grief so that you can begin the work that is necessary to heal.

Together we will:

  • Create a sacred and safe space in which you can let go of your emotions knowing that I will honor your grief journey

  • Create a blank slate for you to talk about your loved one what they meant to you, what they have left you with, what you wish you had said, what you might be angry about, what you wish you knew more about and how to go about learning as much as possible about that particular incident, time, or event and how to reconcile what was left unsaid or what you wish you had done

  • I will provide a template for you to write, paint, compose a song, prepare a list of what needs to still be done with regard to an estate, selling a home, moving, tying up loose ends. I will share my list of resources that can be of great help to you as you walk this path

  • We will discuss how to prepare for the year of 1st’s.  How you can honor your loved one during the holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

  • Legacy work – what is it, how to do it, why you will want to do it
